First time I'd been and was not disappointed! The staff were attentive and polite from our arrival. The food was superb with a wonderful menu to choose from and the drinks were as good as the food! A beautiful, relaxing place to eat. Would highly recommend!

Saturday before Christmas. Good that we booked a table. Going to the Theatre later. Food was really good, with a wide rang of fish dishes. Not as cheap as next door, but far better quality. Beer was OK. Service was really good. Had logged into their wifi a few months earlier and got an email for my birthday (the day after we visited) to say that we each get a free glass of bubbles. Very good. Only took a photo of the dessert. Will be back.

This place is amazing, I’ve been at least a dozen times and it’s always consistent. This is the first time I’ve ever said this, so today went with five friends, four had never been so hoped it would still be without fault. Guess what still excellent. Thank you and a huge thank you too Gabriela who looked after us with style.

The plates were fresh and colourful and the flavours were bold and earthy. You could tell everything had been prepared with care as each component of the dish had the texture and flavour spot on. The mushrooms had a nice bite, the sauce was creamy and the gnocchi was crunchy and delicious -- the garnish further elevated the flavour. I also tried some of my partners dish which had a strong, savoury flavour very in tune with traditional British Cuisine and I tried a bit of the horseradish iced cream from my partner's mother's terrine which had a sharp but creamy and refreshing flavour. The bread came with a slightly sweet balsamic and oil for vegans and it matched the crunch of the bread perfectly. The olives were really high quality and had a perfect flavour (I forgot to photograph these prior to eating them) all and all the ambience of the restaurant was lovely and felt very upscale like it'd be ideal for a special occasion. What you get is worth exactly what you pay for it as the portions are perfect and don't leave you feeling hungry afterwards, it's truly worth a visit.

Went here last night and it was so nice the food was lovely, service was good nice welcome, and had a lovely night, very cosy place. It does get a bit loud in the food area and the bar area is surprising a lot quieter, but apart from this we would recommend. Would I eat here again ? Definitely

A completely wonderful restaurant.
Myself and my partner came in today after taking a walk around the cathedral for his birthday. It was our first time visiting the restaurant and we are already planning our next visit back.
Our order was simple, coffee and a scotch egg but the service and food was anything but!
The gentleman that served us was so lovely, the coffee was amazing and the scotch eggs were divine.
We had such a brilliant experience and cannot wait to return.

Wonderful dining experience with friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious, with the Raspberry Soufflé being the star of the show! I was also reassured by their allergen awareness and processes.

We visited today and had a wonderful experience. From walking in the door, staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. Our waitress - Olga - was absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she frequently checked in to ensure we were having a pleasant experience. The roast beef was the best I’ve had out in memory. Servers were happy to check in and offer replenishments of gravy and roast potatoes (genius idea to have those as bottomless!) the desserts were all equally delicious. All in all, excellent value for money, fantastic portion sizes and really good quality and tasty food. We will definitely be back!

We visited The Quill and Scholar for lunch today to see the new place in town. The inside of the pub was nicely renovated and provided a calm and relaxed environment.
The staff were incredibly friendly with each one of them greeting us as we passed them. They were keen to help with menu explanations and were very accommodating and interested in us having a great experience.
Food was lovely, a refreshing change from just ordinary pub food to something that is a little bit more special with quality ingredients presented in an appetising manner to bring a fancy end result at an affordable price.
We would definitely visit again not just for the great tasting food but also for the accommodating hospitality of the staff who are there. If you haven’t been and you are in or around Lichfield I would certainly recommend that you have a look at what they have to offer!
Edit: We did end up visiting again on New Years Eve! Whilst the place was very busy they managed to stay consistent with the service, the food and the atmosphere - all in all a great place to visit and highly recommended for anyone looking for a great meal with some friendly staff to look after you while you are there.
